Our First Project: Salvation Army Contest

Pamela Wye-Hunsinger

Students in Art and Nature 2015 were invited to participate in a contest with cash prizes ($250 for 7th-8th grader and $500 for 9th-12th graders) and the opportunity to have their work seen by the community at large. "Doing the most good" was the theme of the Salvation Army's "Design-A-Bin" contest. Students created two projects (the maximum number they could submit) in order to increase their chances of being among the selected designs to be incorporated onto the Salvation Army bins around the community. Finalists' artwork will be on display once they've been chosen. We will have information about that when we know who the finalists are. Our inaugural blog posting consists of students describing the thinking that went into their first "Design-A-Bin" submission along with a photo of the completed design.

We will announce any SBP winners, here, on our blog.
